Amit documents how betting platforms operating in India handled payments, withdrawals and account processes, and how those systems behaved when operators wound down real-money services. His focus now is the practical side of the transition: what stalls a withdrawal, why KYC mismatches block payouts, and how to tell a legitimate support channel from an advance-fee recovery scam.

Is online cricket betting safe?

Not in law. From 1 May 2026 the Online Gaming Act prohibits online money games nationwide, including cricket betting. An agent ID has no legal protection. Help: iCall 9152987821 or AASRA 9820466726.

How to spot fraud

Fake sites copy popular brands. Before you send money or an ID, check:

Wrong URL

Clone sites change one letter in a known brand name.

Odd payments

An agent asking for a large transfer to a personal account is a warning sign.

How to protect yourself

  1. OTP: never give a bank or UPI OTP to an agent or a site. That is account takeover, not verification.
  2. KYC scans: sending Aadhaar or PAN on WhatsApp is identity-theft risk.
  3. Upfront fees: money demanded for “recovery” or “ID activation” is a common scam.
