Is online cricket betting legal in India?
No. From 1 May 2026 the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 prohibits online money games nationwide, including cricket betting for a stake, advertising them, and handling payments for them. Skill versus chance does not change that. Horse racing, lotteries and in-person play still sit under state statutes. The checker is that overlay.

No. From 1 May 2026 the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 prohibits online money games nationwide, including cricket betting for a stake, advertising them, and handling payments for them. Skill versus chance does not change that. State gambling statutes still cover horse racing, lotteries and in-person play.
