Editorial policy and corrections
Last reviewed: 12 September 2026
CricketBetGuides is an independent education desk. We explain cricket betting mechanics, Indian online-gaming law and historical platform records. We do not sell betting IDs, take stakes or promise winners.
How topics are selected
We prioritise questions Indian readers actually search for: the 2025 Act, odds and exchanges, withdrawal and balance problems after platforms closed, and match context. We do not publish “sure tips,” ID sales funnels or how-to-evade-the-law content. Detail on research steps sits on our methodology page.
Who writes and who reviews
Named authors write the first draft. A second editor fact-checks load-bearing claims before publication. Legal pages are reviewed by our legal editor. Author profiles are at /authors.
How we check cricket statistics
Prefer official boards, tournament sites, ICC materials and established cricket databases. Show or link the source and note when a figure was checked. Do not invent availability or results.
How we verify legal information
Cite the gazetted Act, government releases and published counsel analysis. State pages cover the offline overlay only. Online money games are prohibited nationwide from 1 May 2026. Nothing on this site is legal advice for a reader’s own facts. See also the fact-checking policy.
Independence and commercial links
- Independence. No advertiser, affiliate or partner can buy a ranking, score or removal of criticism.
- Disclosure. How the site is funded is on how we make money. Where a commercial relationship exists, the page should say so.
- Labelling. Affiliate or sponsored links, if used, must be labelled and must not be the sole authority for legal, statistical or responsible-gambling claims.
- No operator outbound. Review pages do not link out to betting operators.
Predictions versus facts
Match previews separate verified match details from editorial assessment. We do not use “guaranteed,” “fixed” or “sure bet” language. Uncertainty (toss, weather, selection, injuries) belongs on the page.
Responsible play
No article presents betting as income. Site chrome carries Indian helplines. We do not encourage anyone to stake where the law prohibits online money games.
Freshness and updates
Legal pages are reviewed when the Act or major litigation moves. Guides and archives carry a visible “Updated” date. We do not change that date unless the page was genuinely reviewed or edited.
Corrections
If you identify a factual error, outdated legal information, incorrect statistic, broken link or misleading statement, email editorial@cricketbetguides.com with the page URL and the suggested correction. We review credible reports. Confirmed errors are fixed within 48 hours where possible. Material corrections may include a visible update note. We do not silently rewrite history for convenience.

Standing rules
- Accuracy. Every load-bearing claim must be sourced or labelled as opinion.
- Fairness. Platform records present strengths and weaknesses. We do not omit facts to protect a commercial relationship.
- No urgency tactics. No countdown timers, fake scarcity or “limited-time” pressure.
